We, the undersigned, on behalf of women in Iran, strongly condemn the violent attacks by police and security forces on Iranian women peaceful demonstration on June 12.
We call for amendments to the constitution and legal laws that deny equal right
s in many elements of family life including marriage and divorce, child custody, inheritance laws and all other laws that are designed to keep women oppressed in Iran.We are demanding the immediate and unconditional release of all the detainees who are unlawfully detained by Iranian government, including 4 journalists and numerous other young and adult women detainees. Accordingly, we urge international human rights organizations, the United Nations, National Women Associations, and others to ensure the release of all detainees without further delay.
